Frequently Asked Questions

The video camera is grayed out on the main screen. How do I take a video memo?

You can't. The camera icon is grayed out because the hardware doesn't allow video to be recorded.

Why doesn't holding the iPhone up to my face start the audio recording?

Check the settings to see if the Audio Memo settings is On.

Why is there no indication that you're recording when you hold the iPhone to your face?

Memo to Self uses the proximity sensor to know when the iPhone is close to your face. The iPhone hardware automatically blanks the screen when the proximity sensor is activated.

How do I find out which memos alarms have gone off.

Go to the categories and select the category the memo is in. If you didn't put it in a category or can't remember, select All. Click on the Pending filter to show memos that have gone off but you haven't viewed at least once.

An alarm goes off occasionally that I want to delete. How can I find it?

Go to the categories and select the category the memo is in. If you didn't put it in a category or can't remember, select All. Click on the Active filter to show memos that will occur in the future.

How can I stop a note alarm without deleting the note?

You need to change the repeat interval to Once, then after that alarm sounds, the memo will stop sounding the alarm.

How can I schedule an alarm for a note that is no longer active?

Find the note in the memo list in whatever category you put it in (or use the All category). Go to the memo details for the note. Touch the next reminder item. Change the reminder time to what you want.

I want to turn off the playing of sounds when an alarm activates.

Run the Settings app and go to the Memo to Self settings. Turn off he Sounds in the Notification section.

I have a number of memos with the default alarm time. I don't want alarms going off for each memo.

Run the Settings app and change the Simultaneous Memos item in the Alerts section to One Alert.
